Fashion icon and beauty lover Trinny Woodall has unpacked her no-nonsense day on a plate that keeps her physically fit and alert at 58 – and the moisturisers she’s using to maintain her youthful glow.
The UK style guru released an in depth livestream alongside her trainer Nathalie Hayward to speak to exactly what products and nutrients she swears by for keeping healthy and svelte well into her 50s.
‘I have some very unhealthy habits. I love sugar and I love bread and I love grazing. What I found as I reached that perimenopausal age is that my metabolism changed and suddenly it was having a negative effect on my body,’ the creator of Trinny London said.
‘But slowly I’ve switched… I’ll still have bread on the weekends but mid-week I like to start my day with one of two options.’

Trinny opts for either two eggs and a broccoli frittata, tomatoes and avocado or a nourish bowl with Oatly oat milk, mixed seeds, almonds, desiccated coconut, sesame seeds, cauliflower rice and apricots.
‘The first one feels good, plenty of protein, and the seed breakfast is my other option. Now you might be thinking ‘cauliflower rice oh how disgusting’ but it’s really interesting,’ she said.
Lunchtime is regularly tomato rice, salmon and a selection of vegetables.
‘I always have fish and rice, chicken and rice or quinoa, and I have it everyday,’ she explained. ‘It’s filling and filled with protein. When I ate a sandwich for lunch I’d be snacking at 3pm.’
Trinny tries to eat dinner quite early in the evening – at 7pm – to give her body time to digest before bed.
It’s usually always a selection of chicken soup with sourdough lathered in butter and cheese, followed by a dessert of yoghurt, blackberries, chocolate and agave syrup.

Besides focusing on her plate of food and fitting in regular exercise – which she often livestreams on Instagram – Trinny also has a firm focus on her beauty routine
‘And then a Daim bar is my extra special treat on a Saturday,’ she said.

She has been drip-feeding products into her Trinny London skincare line in order of application including two cleansers and three exfoliators designed to target specific concerns.
Earlier this month she released her next products – energy-boosting moisturisers – that promise to rehydrate the skin and lock in plumpness all day.

‘Our two moisturisers are skincare overachievers – they absorb incredibly easily and feel sumptuous, like a supercharged shot of hydration for your skin. More than just moisturisers, our highly active formulations will bring your skin back to life,’ she said.
The Bounce Back Intense Peptide Moisturiser ($92) is ‘perfect for skin feeling its age’ and targets both wrinkles and loss of firmness.
Powered by peptides and hyaluronic acid, this high-performing formulation visibly smooths out fine lines and brings vibrancy back to your complexion.
What are Trinny’s top anti-ageing secrets at 58?
* Reduce sugar as much as you can without depriving yourself of joy – switch ice cream for apple with peanut butter or a good quality stick of dark chocolate
* Have good skincare routine and stick to it
* Only invest in high quality skincare gadgets if you are going to stick to them. Buy them and see them through if you want to see results. Don’t make it a chore and use them on the loo for five minutes if you’re short on time
* Take marine collagen every day and put it on your face
* Use makeup with nourishing ingredients that heal your skin while you wear it
* Focus on lymphatic drainage methods on your face, it is excellent for reducing puffiness
* Listen to your body and your skin, it will show you physically if you have inflammation in your body
Meanwhile the Energise Me Niacinamide Moisturiser ($79) uses skin-boosting niacinamide to help balance excess oil and even tone and texture.
‘We’ve been really focused on putting in balanced but very active ingredients,’ she said of the range.
‘Every single skin issue is about inflammation whether it’s ageing, acne or rosacea so it’s all about how we can reduce that which means really good ingredients that can really change our skin.’
