The Best Beauty Products of 2021

Here are T&C there’s little we love more than a tried and true beauty product, but just because we adore our carefully curated favorites doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate the latest and greatest when it comes to keeping our skin plump and dewy, or hair enviably shiny, and our faces looking flawless. On that front, the year 2021 certainly didn’t disappoint. From dry shampoos that helped us keep our strands fresh and skincare serums that were instant obsessions to all-new brands and a few revamped classics, here are our very favorite beauty products that launched this year.

The Serum

A lighter version of Augustinus Bader’s cult-obsession The Cream, this fast-absorbing serum brings all of the hydrating, age-fighting prowess of its heavier cousins without the heft, making it ideal for layering under makeup.

Les Mains Hermes Nail Enamel

Since they first launched their beauty line last year with a highly-covetable set of lipsticks, Hermès has proven that they have a knack for crafting cosmetics that look as good on your vanity as they do on your body. Naturally, their nail polish line, which debuted this year, is no exception with sleek, minimalist packaging filled with luxe, creamy shades fans just can’t resist.

Teint Idole Ultra Wear All Over Concealer

Some concealers hide those skin sins by relying on thick formulas, which can, ironically, make the problems look worse, especially for those of us whose complexions are less than youthful. This new option from Lancôme goes a different direction, opting for light, buildable coverage with a hydrating formula and a subtle matte finish that blends seamlessly into skin without creasing, and sticks around for hours and hours.

Dyson Supersonic Flyaway Attachment

Shine on, with he latest addition to the range of attachments for Dyson’s fan-favorite hair styler. Using nothing but controlled airflow, the attachment tucks unruly flyaways underneath longer strands of hair to create an ultra-smooth surface layer on your ‘do and serving up the shiniest, sleekest style.

Indigo Overnight Repair Serum in Cream Treatment

Let’s face it, the last couple of years haven’t been the kindest to anyone’s, well, face. This treatment, which Tatcha refers to as a serum in cream, is lighter than the sensitivity-battling Indigo Cream, which makes it ideal for anyone struggling with stressed out, red, dehydrated skin.

Curator Refillable Palette

Refillable eyeshadow palettes aren’t exactly new, but Hourglass’s version, which launched this year, adds a new level of luxe. Available in 1, 3, and 5 slot sizes and made from tin and post-consumer recycled plastic, it’s not only designed to help cut down on waste over time, but also allows you to craft a perfect collection of their silky eyeshadows in the shades you’ll actually use.

Living Proof Perfect hair Day Advanced Clean Dry Shampoo

Living Proof’s original Perfect hair Day (PhD) Dry Shampoo was already such a cult-obsession that it seemed hard to improve upon it, but the brand’s latest iteration has quickly converted skeptics. By adding conditioning agents to the formula, the spray not only knocks out oil, but also avoids the powdery residue and gritty texture of some dry shampoos that can make hair feel less than fresh, making it the closest thing we’ve found to wash day in a can.

The Retinol+ Starter System

Skincare obsessives know that the secret to getting the most out of your routine is to maximize the potency of the active ingredients you use, and nothing keeps actives at their peak like freshness. That’s why this first-of-its-kind system was such an innovation this year. Combining a specially coated treatment dose that keeps the waterless formula of wrinkle-busting retinol (plus ceramides, triglycerides, and botanicals) at its best, the timed programs are not only effective in the fight aging, they also prevent product overload that can put some of us off retinol.

Rosso Valentino Refillable Lipstick

This year, fans got to give their beauty routines a little luxury Italian upgrade, as the famed fashion house Valentino launched their first color cosmetics line, including a 40-shade foundation, dual-ended eyeliners, and a lipstick line that comes with refillable tubes to cut down on packaging waste.

Drunk Elephant C-Firma Fresh Day Serum

Drunk Elephant’s signature vitamin C serum got a revamp this year to make getting glowy, bright, radiant skin even easier. Packed with 15 percent skin-brightening vitamin C, it now comes with a longer shelf life thanks to a dual formulation that you mix yourself on the first use, so you can be sure that the potent ingredients inside are at their peak freshness and efficacy.

Cream Blush

Blush was back in a big way this year, and green beauty brand Tata Her[err got in on the game with a sheer, antioxidant-filled formula that blends smoothing into skin for an instant dose of subtle, natural-looking color.
