At Versace, bold patterned head scarves that matched the outfits took over the runway, while at Blumarine, the designers leaned fully into the Y2K nostalgia theme of their show and paired their faux denim headscarves with all-over body glitter. The trend also showed up at Anna Sui as a colorful accessory to the brightly-colored rompers and dresses, and at Giorgio Armani, the silk head scarves covered the entire head, not leaving out a single tendril of hair.

Several shows opted for eye-catching hair colors as an aesthetic mic-drop. Hairstylist Sam McKnight weaved in multi-colored hair pieces into the looks at Dries Van Noten, while as Loewe, models with shaggy hair colored in a variety of hues, from pastel pink and turquoise, stole the show. At Valentino, neon-bright shades acted as an accessory to the clothing pieces, and at Moschino, the ’50s- and ”60s-inspired bouffants were dyed pink, adding an additional layer of fantasy to the show.

As a nod to the early aughts, a multitude of brands, including Blumarine and Koche, incorporated glitzy, high-shine lips as a part of their makeup arsenal. Makeup artist Lauren Parsons wanted to evoke a fresh and modern vibe at Victoria Beckham; for her, that meant that the gloss should migrate to the lids, as well, to create mirror-like sheen. Designer Kim Jones went full disco at Fendi and a combination of clear and red glossy lips only added to the glamour.

Striking shadows and dazzling liners commanded the runways once again. Versace opted for the more-is-more approach and layered on various shades of green eyeshadow for a show-stopping effect. The over-the-top eyeshadow trend was also seen in New York, at the top of the Empire State Building to be more specific, where LaQuan Smith’s show featured showy blue luminescent lids. The glitter at Tom Ford was focused on the corner of the eye, injecting depth and dimension into the shadow. And at Chloé, a razor sharp stripe of neon orange liner was the centerpiece of the makeup look.

Veils of warm, watercolor rust tones covered the cheekbones of models at Anna Sui, Altuzarra, and Victoria/Tomas, imparting a sun-kissed glow onto the skin. A soft wash of different shades of rust—from terra-cotta at Anna Sui to a more peachy tone at Victoria/Tomas—were also draped across the lips for a complimentary makeup pairing.

Whether matte or vinyl, the classic pigmented red pout was seen at Michael Kors, Saint Laurent, Fendi, and Naeem Khan. The latter offered a high-impact shade of red, while Kors and Fendi went for a classic crimson, and Saint Laurent gave viewers a blood-red hue to gaze upon.
