Watch Camila Cabello Get Ready for the Met Gala 2022
“Hey Gian, do you have a speaker?” Camila Cabello asks her manager Gian Mitchell. “I think it’s time for turn up vibes.” Inside her suite at The Carlyle, the 25-year-old pop singer is getting ready for the Met Gala 2022—and making sure she’s got the right pregame tunes on as she’s primped by her glam team.
“I feel so excited because I love my outfit, and I’m already loving my hair, and my makeup, and my nails,” says Cabello as makeup artist Patrick Ta gives her a fresh-faced glow and a set of smoldering smoky eyes. Playing off the floral appliqué detail of her dramatic white two-piece Atelier Prabal Gurung gown, her hairstylist Andrew Fitzsimons is applying extra hand-cut, hand-painted blooms to her wispy top knot, while nail artist Tom Bachik is decking her nails in matte white-bloom sculptures to 3D effect.
“Since I’ve become more interested and inspired by fashion and gone on my own journey, I realize how much it really is a form of expression,” says Cabello. “[It] can be used to communicate what’s important to you, what makes you feel strong, what makes you feel confident, what makes you feel grounded. To me, having flowers everywhere makes me feel grounded.” Here, watch Cabello get glammed—and adorned with an excess of flowers—for her second-ever Met Gala.
